Did you know???
  • 71% of likely Alabama voters in 2010 wanted I&R.

  • Citizens in 24 states and the District of Columbia have statewide I&R

  • Considering municipalities, counties, and states, 72% of all US citizens have access to a form of I&R.

  • Birmingham citizens have this right, but not the rest of us in Alabama.

  • Citizens in each county at their county level have I&R but for one specific reason, Act 2005-200.

  • I&R could result in Alabama voters having Recall, Term Limits, and fair ballot access. Without I&R we shall not count on it.

  • I&R has been on US soil since the 1600's.

  • Pres. Thomas Jefferson, Gov. Fob James, Lt Gov candidate Kay Ivey in 2010, and NY Gov George Pataki favored this democratic right for voters.

Do you want public servants to trust you first? I do.

I refuse to give my trust to a candidate without they first trusting me with Iniatitive and Referendum.

The success of this effort is dependent upon each of us in every Alabama county to PUBLICALY ask your local legislative candidates to sign the downloadable pledge cards showing their support of Initiative and Referndum. Forward their pledge cards and comments to Frank Dillman.

Trip Pittman:

Vann Caldwin: "I will look into this. I think 23 states already have this. It does help to protect the will of the people. Thank you!" 5June2017

Brian McGee: I have looked at your website and feel I have a grasp of the issues. You may quote me as follows: Democracy is a "messy" process. We love it when it moves in the direction WE want it to move and then we hate it and try to stop it when it goes in a direction we don't agree with. At the current time too many people are putting Money and Party in front of County and "We the People." While at times, I may disagree with the positions the public may take, ESPECIALLY IF BIG MONEY IS USED TO FRAME THE PUBLIC OPINION, I believe we have to trust in the "People" as did the framers of our constitution. I support and encourage the effort to get active Initiative and Referendum bill passed into law in Alabama." 5Jun2017

Brian Peeples: "Thank you for asking that question. I strongly believe our forefathers knew what they were doing when they constructed our government and had the foresight to account for most situations. I would not support legislation for Initiative and Referendum. Our democracy is sacred and any fundamental change to that structure, in my opinion, would not be best for this country. I believe in our Democratic Republic fully however I understand why there are those who support such legislation but I am not one of those. With that said, my trust, being a representative of the people, is from the people and I do not have the intent to betray that trust. I have always dealt in being honest and doing what's best for people in my life. I will use my position to educate citizens of any legislation that affects us all." 18May2017
